The Executive Director serves as the Chief Executive and Spiritual Leader of Chester County Connect Care (CCCC). This individual is called to lead with Christ-centered conviction, strategic wisdom, and compassionate strength to advance the ministry's life-affirming mission. As the primary visionary, ambassador, and organizational leader, the Executive Director ensures spiritual integrity, operational excellence, financial sustainability, and meaningful community impact.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Chester County Connect Care (CCCC) traces its roots to 1985, when a faithful group of Christian business leaders and church ministers came together in prayer with a shared vision of establishing a Christ-centered pregnancy resource ministry in Chester County, PA. Originally founded as Chester County Women's Services (CCWS), the organization was led by its first Executive Director, Barb Willsher, whose leadership helped establish a ministry dedicated to providing compassionate, life-affirming care for women and families facing unplanned pregnancies.
Over the years, the ministry has continually expanded its services in response to the evolving needs of the community. In 2001, Karen Pennel established a formal Parenting Program and went on to become Administrative Director until 2010. Shortly thereafter, CCWS welcomed its first medical clinic client in 2002–2003, thanks to an incredible anonymous donor who provided the first ultrasound machine.
The organization's physical presence also continued to grow. In 2007, CCWS purchased a building near West Chester University, strengthening its accessibility and visibility within the community. In 2009, Myriam Ruager joined the ministry as Community Health Education Coordinator and was appointed Executive Director in 2010 during a period of financial uncertainty, providing leadership through an important season of organizational stabilization and growing the organization to its current $1.1 million budget.
Recognizing the growing needs of southern Chester County, the ministry opened a third office in Kennett Square in 2013, with a strategic emphasis on serving the Latino and Hispanic communities. Outreach continued to expand with parenting classes offered at off-site locations beginning in 2015, increasing accessibility for families throughout the county.
Medical services were further enhanced in 2017 through the donation of additional ultrasound machines for both the West Chester and Kennett Square locations. During this period, volunteer medical leadership from Dr. William Brown as Medical Director and radiologist Dr. Jeffrey Hung strengthened the ministry's healthcare capabilities. The organization also broadened its holistic approach to care by launching a Homeless Prevention Program to better address the practical needs of vulnerable families.
In 2018, the organization relocated its West Chester office to a leased facility just two blocks from Planned Parenthood, strategically positioning the ministry to provide life-affirming alternatives to women facing pregnancy decisions. The addition of the first Family Advocate Coordinator further expanded support services, enabling the ministry to walk more intentionally alongside families beyond pregnancy.
The Kennett Square office experienced remarkable growth, with its client base increasing by 400 percent over a three-year period. To meet this demand, a larger facility was leased in 2020, although recent immigration challenges have impacted outreach efforts within the community. During the same period, a partnership with Choose Life Marketing significantly increased connections with abortion-vulnerable women, resulting in a substantial rise in contacts from abortion-minded individuals seeking support.
Reflecting its expanding vision to serve entire families rather than only women, the organization officially changed its name in 2022 from Chester County Women's Services to Chester County Connect Care. This transition also reflected an intentional effort to engage and minister to young men and fathers. That same year, the Coatesville office was expanded to provide additional space for educational programming, staff, Board meetings, and client services. The implementation of the Acuity scheduling platform also greatly improved operational efficiency and client experience.
Most recently, in 2024, Chester County Connect Care took another significant step forward by purchasing a property in Coatesville to establish a Residential Program. This initiative represents the organization's continued commitment to providing comprehensive, Christ-centered care that addresses not only pregnancy decisions but also the long-term physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of women, children, and families.
From its beginning as a prayer-led ministry in 1985 to its current role as a multi-site, holistic family resource organization, Chester County Connect Care has consistently demonstrated a willingness to adapt, grow, and respond to the changing needs of Chester County while remaining firmly rooted in its mission to affirm life and share the love of Christ.

This mission is carried out through a comprehensive continuum of care that includes medical services provided by registered nurses, limited obstetrical ultrasounds performed by certified sonographers, compassionate counseling grounded in biblical principles, parenting and educational programs, anger management classes, and ongoing client advocacy and follow-up support. By addressing both the immediate and long-term physical, emotional, practical, and spiritual needs of those it serves, CCCC provides hope and tangible resources during times of crisis. With three offices located throughout Chester County, the Executive Director must intentionally maintain a visible presence across all locations, fostering consistent communication, organizational alignment, and staff engagement. The Executive Director should demonstrate sound judgment,effective executive leadership, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills while serving as the organization's primary representative. The successful candidate will possess solid nonprofit financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, financial oversight, fundraising strategy, and organizational stewardship. POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director serves as the Chief Executive and Spiritual leader of Chester County Connect Care (CCCC). This individual is called to lead with Christ-centered conviction, strategic wisdom, and compassionate strength to advance the ministry's life-affirming mission.
As the primary visionary, ambassador, and organizational leader, the Executive Director ensures spiritual integrity, operational excellence, financial sustainability, and meaningful community impact. This role requires a spiritually mature leader with a shepherd's heart, executive-level leadership capacity, and a deep commitment to serving women and families facing unplanned pregnancies.
Spiritual Leadership & Mission Integrity

Strategic Vision & Organizational Leadership

Board Partnership & Governance
Serve as the chief liaison to the Board of Directors.
Provide clear, timely, and transparent monthly reports on ministry outcomes, finances, and strategic progress.
Collaborate with the Board President to set agendas and ministry priorities.
Implement board-approved policies and faithfully execute board directives.
Participate in board meetings, committee meetings, and annual retreats.
Leadership Development & Staff Oversight
Direct and shepherd the leadership team, including the Development Director, Nurse Manager, Client Service Manager, Finance Manager and Staff & Client Manager.
Lead weekly leadership meetings focused on accountability, communication, and ministry health.
Oversee hiring, performance management, mentoring, and annual evaluations.
Foster spiritual growth, leadership development, and professional excellence
among staff and volunteers.
Maintain a culture of mutual respect, confidentiality, and teamwork
Ensure responsible financial stewardship & operational oversight for all human and material resources.
Partner with the Treasurer and Finance Coordinator to prepare and present the annual budget.
Monitor financial performance and proactively address trends or concerns.
Oversee legal, regulatory, and ethical compliance.
Safeguard confidential information related to clients, staff, and donors.
Development, Donor Relations & Community Representation
Serve as the primary public voice and ambassador of CCCC.
Cultivate and strengthen relationships with donors, churches, business leaders, and community partners, with specific emphasis on major donors and strategic partners.
Actively participate in and support all fundraising initiatives and events.
Speak at churches, community events and other opportunities with clarity, enthusiasm and conviction.
Engage media with grace and confidence regarding ministry operations and life-affirming issues.
Remain informed on pro-life matters impacting the ministry and community.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required (Health Care Management, Communications, Marketing, Social Services, Ministry, or related field preferred).
Minimum five (5) years of senior leadership experience in nonprofit, ministry, healthcare, or social services.
Experience supervising staff and volunteers (5+ years preferred).
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, team leadership, and community engagement.
Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software (Sage 50 preferred).
Ability to lead independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.

Position Authority
The Executive Director is hired by and accountable to the Board of Directors and is entrusted with the full executive leadership of Chester County Connect Care. The Board reserves the right to assign additional responsibilities as needed to advance the mission of the ministry.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary: $80-90,000, depending on experience
Benefits: $4,800 stipend
Retirement Account: 2% of regular salary (tax-deferred Vanguard annuity)
Vacation: 2 weeks, and 8 national holidays
PTO (Paid Time Off): Five (5) days per year (rest, recreation, renewal)
