Pulse Evangelism is a prayer and evangelism movement on mission to Make Jesus Known. The ministry aims to bring the hope of Jesus to the next generation—whether it’s through live events or livestreams, local revival gatherings, raising up leaders, or creating digital resources—believing that this generation needs Jesus and that we, as believers, cannot afford to be silent.

The Director of Marketing and Growth will oversee the planning and execution of digital initiatives and creative assets, ensuring alignment with Pulse’s mission to Make Jesus Known. Acting as bridge between vision and execution, this leader will provide strategic direction for the Digital Evangelism and Creative (DEC) Team, while working closely with the Vice President of Marketing, Director of Projects, and the Director of Marketing and Communications to drive organizational health, streamline operations, and deliver measurable results across platforms, channels and departments.

The DEC Team focuses on visual branding, digital-first strategies, creative media production, and platform-specific engagement—developing creative assets, running digital campaigns, and leveraging user-generated content to amplify Pulse’s evangelistic vision. Through innovative digital experiences, the DEC team resonates with younger audiences while remaining true to Pulse’s mission. While the DEC team leads digital innovation and creative development, the Marketing/Communications function ensures integrated messaging, branding, and public-facing consistency. This Director of Digital Media and Creative will lead, manage, and develop a high-energy team of passionate young professionals.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Pulse Evangelism (Pulse) aims to bring the hope of Jesus to the next generation — whether it’s through live events or livestreams, local revival gatherings, raising up leaders, or creating digital resources. In 2006, Founder and President Nick Hall wrote a paper about how to reach his generation with the Gospel. The paper went viral and exploded into a student-led movement that reached 8,000 students on his college campus. Since then, over 330 million people around the world, and nearly 2 million have responded to Jesus through their initiatives.

Pulse wants to see the Gospel spread, God’s Word engaged, and disciples multiplied through live events, digital ministry, and training for young evangelists and leaders.

THE PEOPLE OF PULSE

  • Prioritize the diversity of “every tribe, tongue, and nation” (Revelation 7:9) on our team.

CAMPAIGNS AND INITIATIVES

Evangelism Campaigns

As a culture, we have become increasingly loud about everything except Jesus—yet this generation needs Him now more than ever. Pulse is on mission to put Jesus at the pulse of a generation through large and small live events around the world.

Digital Ministry

GenZ now spends more time on internet-connected devices than any generation in history. Pulse is bringing the message of Jesus to them by developing digital content and resources — tools that will help this generation grow in their relationship with Jesus and share Him with others.

Training & Multiplication

Pulse is at the forefront of a new movement of Jesus followers who are ready to bring revival to their generation. Their greatest success is found in raising up young leaders who are equipped to multiply.

Kingdom Partnership

Pulse is uniquely positioned as a bridge—trusted by older generations, but with a voice that resonates with the next generation. Pulse facilitates catalytic partnerships and events, joining with others to pursue a movement of unity and authenticity.

Pulse has shared the message of Jesus with 330,000,000 people since its founding in 2006.

OPERATIONS, OFFICE & MINNEAPOLIS

Pulse is led by seven-member Board of Directors, founder Nick Hall, Vice President of Finance & Operations, Wes Oren, Vice President of Marketing, Matt Knisely and Vice President of Training and Education, Laurel Bunker who make up the Executive Team. There are currently 47 staff, and the organization’s budget for FY24 is just over $12.5 million.

In 2019, Pulse moved into a new office space in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, a city that boasts a metro population of 3.6 million, 16th largest in the USA. Pulse’s heart for this space is that it would become a training ground for pastors and young leaders around the world. Just as Minneapolis served for many years as the headquarters for Billy Graham, so they hope once again to make the Twin Cities a global center for evangelism.

Having just been named the happiest city in the U.S., Minneapolis has an innovative economy that touches a breadth of industries from software to renewable energy. The Twin Cities, consisting of Minneapolis and St. Paul in Minnesota, offer a dynamic mix of urban culture, outdoor activities, and sports enthusiasm. For visitors and residents, there’s always something to do—from exploring world-class museums like the Walker Art Center to enjoying outdoor activities on the Chain of Lakes or in the nearby parks.

The area is known for its lively arts scene, excellent dining, and local breweries. Sports enthusiasts can cheer for professional teams like the Minnesota Vikings (NFL), Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA), Minnesota Twins (MLB), and Minnesota Wild (NHL), with the state's love for sports evident in its passionate fanbase. The median home price in the Twin Cities area is currently around $350,000, though this can vary significantly depending on the neighborhood and proximity to downtown areas. The region's diverse housing options make it an attractive place for families, young professionals.

OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES

The current culture at Pulse, as described by their team, is both healthy and excited about the future. The work environment is casual yet fast-paced and interactive, driven by a young and passionate team. The organization is deeply committed to prayer and mission, starting each day with worship and prayer, fostering a strong sense of unity. The team operates in a hybrid work model from their beautiful headquarters in downtown Minneapolis.

Pulse is well-respected both locally and globally within the evangelism ministry space, earning trust due to their passion, strong partnerships, and consistent donor support. The organization is uniquely positioned as a bridge—trusted by older generations while resonating deeply with younger ones. Pulse continues to drive a movement centered on unity and authenticity.

The Director of Marketing and Growth will need to thrive in this dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. This role demands someone who can adapt quickly, pivot when necessary, and lead with vision and clarity. To succeed, the person in this role must be passionate about the power of the Gospel and have a heart for reaching the next generation. Desirable traits include excellent communication skills, high capacity for learning, a strategic mindset, and strong leadership, diplomacy, and collaboration abilities.

They must not be intimidated by ambitious “God-sized” visions and goals. Instead, they should be able to flourish in a young, fast-paced setting, be resourceful in overcoming challenges, and have unshakable faith in God's ability to accomplish great things. Above all, a deep love for Jesus is essential. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-growing ministry dedicated to leading a generation to Christ.
