THEIR STORY
This history of Capstone Legacy Foundation goes back to almost the beginning of the country. In 1810 with the founding of the Lukens Steel Company, Rebecca Lukens, a devout Quaker, became the first female industrialist and the first female CEO of a steel company. Her vibrant faith was passed on to her great grandchildren. Charles Lukens Huston, Jr. ran the steel business while his sister Ruth Huston went to serve as a missionary to the communities and children of Appalachia. In recognition of their Quaker and Presbyterian evangelical Christian beliefs, they started the Huston Foundation in 1957. Ruth Huston used her inheritance to boost the Huston Foundation’s ability to fund good works.
Charles Huston’s daughter, Nancy Huston Hansen, was deeply inspired by the examples of both her father and her aunt Ruth and continued the work. In 2005, as an extension of the examples of those in her family, Ms. Hansen founded the Capstone Legacy Foundation. As a 501(c) 3 Christian community foundation dedicated to the preservation of donor intent, they believe that stewarding God's blessings is a form of obedience and worship. As CEO, Ms. Hansen brings over four decades of leadership and knowledge of ministries operating in the Philadelphia region and beyond.
As a vice president and director of The Huston Foundation, she has been immersed in the world of Christian ministry leadership and philanthropy. She has served as a board member with many ministries, including Mercy Medical Airlift, Esperanza Health Center, Hi-Kidz International, Inner-City Movement, Resources for Better Families, Mission Media Ministries, Good News Communications, among others.
This vast experience has led Mrs. Hansen to establish Capstone Legacy Foundation as an innovative and effective initiative to meet the needs of donors, ministries, and communities for the kingdom.
Given the history and legacies of Rebecca Luken, Charles Lukens Huston Jr., Ruth Huston, and Nancy Hansen, The Capstone Legacy Foundation is strongly committed to support the country through prayer, generosity and education. They have a strongly held belief that God is at work in the United States of America and they work to support causes towards such purposes.

WHAT THEY DO
Capstone Legacy Foundation believes that as a united Christian community, we can transform culture by serving one another in agape love. Capstone is dedicated to serving donors with unique innovative strategies for biblical planned giving, creative support for charitable ministries and the commitment to preserving donor intent with a national geographic scope. Capstone provides donors customized giving solutions that enable each dollar to go further.
Therefore, with prayerful consideration, Capstone practices generosity through giving toward projects such as providing clean water or food, combatting human trafficking, mercy ministries such as building hospitals and providing medical care for the needy, supporting pregnancy centers, and educational efforts all while helping donors reduce complexity and increase giving through their donor advised fund.
In addition, Capstone Legacy Foundation also serves as a fiscal sponsoring organization through their Ministry Charitable Projects (MCP). Capstone handles back-office administrative responsibilities for approved projects and ministries to serve as an incubator and help prepare for a future 501c3 organization. Therefore, Capstone undergirds Kingdom projects in the form of MCPs, Christian ministries, businesses, and creative innovative solutions for the body of Christ all while facilitating ministry at a much lower cost.
Current MCP's include:

OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES
Opportunities
A strong Christian-values based nonprofit organization that has a legacy of making an impact and is dedicated to serving the wider Christian community. This builds on the long time commitment to generosity of the Huston family while expanding to include many others in a culture of Christian philanthropy.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team making a significant business impact through investments and financial services while embracing a culture of prayer and worship within the office culture.
The right financial leader has the opportunity to provide strong strategic finance leadership while innovating better strategies to implement new platforms, systems and protocols. While many finance roles are oriented to compliance or efficiency, this position will allow wide latitude for entrepreneurial growth and impact investing in a diverse portfolio of ministries and organizations.
Challenges
This role will need to assess and revamp processes and systems while running the financial and accounting operations with a small, hard working team. This will be a "player/coach" role that will require the finance leader to "get their hands dirty" in the details of building a larger finance team while overseeing the strategic elements as well.
The new CFO will need to recruit, hire and train personnel while running financial and accounting operations

STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe that the entire Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (the “Bible”) are the inspired and inerrant Word of God; the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and was true Man and is true God.
We believe that in this age, God manifests Himself through the Holy Spirit who is a distinct personality, eternally co-existent with the Father and The Son, whose basic task is to convict sinners, regenerate those who believe, and empower believers to live godly lives and in every way glorify the Father and the Son through His indwelling presence.
We believe that man was created in the image of God, that He sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is eternal separation from God and is upon all men.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected in body, ascended into Heaven, currently lives there for us as High Priest and Advocate, and that His personal, physical return to earth is imminent.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting punishment of the lost, and the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the unjust to the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost.
As an integral, vital and inseparable part of the purpose and function of the Capstone Legacy Foundation is intercessory prayer to God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, including, but not limited to, the Lord’s prayer, prayer for all believers who are part of the Body of Christ, prayer for all men that they may come to know Him and be redeemed, prayer for the effectiveness and growth of the ministries of such believers in the greater Philadelphia region, and prayer for the transformation of their communities, in accordance with the Bible and its instruction to pray without ceasing.
