TTI has also planted 150,000 churches throughout the last fifteen (15) years and nearly 60,000 of those churches have been in the most recent two (2) years.

The Global Director of Human Resources will attend to TTI’s greatest and most strategic asset: its people. This multinational, strategic, leadership role will champion a high-performance and service-oriented culture so TTI can advance its mission around the world. ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The Timothy Initiative (TTI) was established with the purpose to train and equip “Timothys” (faithful people who make disciples known make disciples and plant churches that plant churches). The organization was originally called “Project India,” as India was where they first started. It was not until 2009 that TTI settled on the name The Timothy Initiative. Since then, they have expanded across Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Today, TTI has planted over 150,000 churches across 42 countries and is committed to continue training disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples! What began as a training program in Asia turned into a disciple making movement.

Through TTI’s training, local leaders equip Christians with the necessary tools, resources, and strategies to reach their nations for Christ. This includes a two-year training program where the organization provides the curriculum and a strategy to spread the Good News about Jesus and His Kingdom. The curriculum is obedience-based, provides a solid biblical foundation, and offers a leadership pipeline strategy to support church-planting movements. These churches meet in homes, on mountaintops, under trees, and in riverbeds—as TTI doesn’t focus on building structures—so it is sustainable, reproducible, and cost-effective. TTI is an independent, nonprofit organization supported through the generosity of contributors.

OPERATIONS & HOME OFFICE

The Timothy Initiative currently has three (3) continental offices that serve as hubs to smaller national field offices. 1) Americas—Raleigh, North Carolina, which also serves as the Global office, 2) Asia, and 3) Africa—Nairobi, Kenya. They currently employ 1,000+ worldwide, including 50+ in the home office. An interesting fact is that 65% of the senior staff have been with the ministry 10 years or more. The annual budget is currently $30M, with a trajectory of $50M+ within a few years.

CORE VALUES & SPIRITUAL REQUIREMENTS

CORE VALUES

As The Timothy Initiative seeks to multiply the Kingdom of God throughout the world, they are committed to a set of core values. These distinct values influence their decisions and behaviors in pursuit of their mission—creating a unique culture and guiding principles:

  • Kingdom Focused: It’s all about the King of kings and His Kingdom, so we share the work and give God the credit.

  • Spirit-Led, Scripture-Based: The Holy Spirit and The Holy Scriptures are our guides in planting multiplying churches.

  • Integrity First: God values integrity—so do we.

  • Disciple-Making Leads to Church Planting: The best way to plant churches is by making disciple makers.

  • Prayer is Priority: We pray throughout the process of planning and planting churches.

  • People Matter: All people matter to God, so we reach out to everyone—large and small tribes, people groups, urban cities, remote villages, rich, poor, everyone!

  • Faith-Driven: We want to bring glory to God. If there is no faith involved, there is no glory for God.

SPIRITUAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Each team member at TTI is expected to maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as a top priority; be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of TTI; and faithfully uphold TTI’s ministry in prayer.

  • Every team member at TTI is required to sign an acknowledgement page and live a life congruent with the spiritual principles outlined in TTI’s “Statement of Faith,” “Christian Living Statement,” and policies and procedures as stated in TTI’s employee handbook.

For Executive Team members and those with a ministerial exemption, they also ask they sign and abide by the “Qualifications of a Ministry Leader.”

OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES

The Timothy Initiative is seeking a Global Human Resources Director who possesses experience leading a multinational, multicultural team of HR people. Someone who can think about the globe before they think about the U.S. TTI has not previously experienced a thriving HR function globally. So, this new leader will need to humbly lead others towards effectiveness and fruitfulness while possessing the gift of curiosity. They cannot assume anything, even if a specific tool, path, or policy has always worked in other work environments they’ve served.

The Global HRD must be adept at change management with wisdom over policy. This leader will need to influence other leaders through listening first and then building trust through collaboration, consistency, and follow-through. In light of international time zones, connection with other HR or country leaders may need to demonstrate flexibility for possible late hours or early hours.

Many of these needs are the result of TTI’s exponential growth. As a result, the following are priorities of this role:

  • The development of a defined, scalable, global organizational structure that grows as the organization grows.

  • Attracting leaders who can think cross-culturally, while developing a leadership pipeline that allows TTI to stay focused on the mission, vision, and values and not detract from the health of their local ministries.

  • Effective employee recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention.

  • Systematic training, evaluation, and coaching with alignment and consistency of programs across continents.
