ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC) is a national, faith-based nonprofit organization founded in 1930 with a mission to reach men in the workplace with the Gospel and equip them to live out their faith through evangelism, disciple-making, and spiritual multiplication.

Over the decades, CBMC has grown into a nationwide movement of staff and volunteers serving communities across the United States, helping transform lives, families, and workplaces through intentional relationships and Christ-centered ministry.

CBMC’s work has historically been carried out through local teams and relational ministry models, including one-to-one mentoring, small groups, and marketplace outreach. This decentralized structure has enabled broad geographic reach while fostering deep, trust-based relationships at the local level. In recent years, CBMC has entered a season of strategic transformation. Building on its legacy, the organization has clarified its vision, mission, and strategies to focus on a more intentional, scalable model of spiritual multiplication. This includes aligning national and field efforts around three core competencies: Reach, Empower, and Deploy, with a renewed emphasis on measurable ministry outcomes and sustainable growth.

Today, CBMC is working to strengthen its organizational infrastructure, expand its development and fundraising capacity, and enhance its national impact while remaining rooted in its relational, Christ-centered foundation. This evolution positions the organization to engage future generations of marketplace leaders and extend its mission more effectively across the country.

VISION & MISSION

Vision

To see men’s lives, families, and workplaces transformed by God through a growing evangelism and disciple-making movement in every community across our nation.(Romans 12:2; Isaiah 60:22)

Mission

To reach, empower, and deploy generations of men in the workplace to live out their faith and multiply their impact for Christ. (Mark 4:26–29; Psalm 78:6–7)

How They Accomplish Their Mission

CBMC exists to engage men in the marketplace with the Gospel and to equip them to live out their faith in meaningful, transformative ways. Their focus is on whole-life impact, seeing faith integrated into leadership, relationships, and workplace influence. They accomplish this through a relational, movement- based model built around three core strategic priorities:

  • Reach

CBMC intentionally connects with men in the marketplace through personal relationships, events, and community engagement. Their approach prioritizes trust-based connections that create opportunities for spiritual conversations and Gospel engagement.

  • Empower

They provide ongoing discipleship and leadership development through one-on-one mentoring, small groups, and structured training experiences. These environments are designed to deepen faith, strengthen character, and equip men to lead with purpose in their homes, workplaces, and communities.

  • Deploy

CBMC mobilizes men to actively live out and share their faith, multiplying their impact by investing in others. This includes equipping leaders to start and sustain ministry efforts in their own spheres of influence, creating a ripple effect of disciple-making across generations. This work is carried out through a national network of staff and volunteers, supported by a growing infrastructure focused on leadership development, ministry effectiveness, and sustainable funding. By combining relational ministry with a clear strategic framework, CBMC is building a scalable model designed to expand its reach and deepen its impact across the country.

OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES

This role presents a significant opportunity to shape and lead the organization’s major gift fundraising efforts at a foundational level. As the lead staff member focused on major gifts, this individual will influence internal practices, policies, and IT infrastructure while building meaningful relationships with donors across the nation. The position offers strong leadership potential, with the opportunity to eventually develop and lead a major gift fundraising team. Success in this role will require a highly relational and goal-oriented leader who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to execute effectively while maintaining high personal and professional standards.

The ideal candidate must also be comfortable engaging a predominantly male audience of business leaders from diverse industries and backgrounds, while confidently integrating faith into donor conversations and viewing major gift fundraising as a ministry to donors. One of the primary challenges will be balancing extensive national travel and strategic planning responsibilities with the need to cultivate deep, authentic relationships and consistently meet ambitious fundraising goals. Words like executor, goal oriented, relational, leader, detail-oriented, and fundraiser describe this person.
