Global Outreach International
Remote
OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
Global Outreach International (Global) is a $17 million mission organization with a family-oriented culture and a faithful service record for more than fifty years. In partnership with sending churches, Global Outreach International is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission, believing that they will see every nation reached in this generation by showing and sharing the love of God. They describe themselves as a “humble, down-to-earth mission agency that helps ordinary people get to the field.” Their missionaries describe them as a “great missions family.”
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting opportunity to help grow a unique mission organization by pursuing funding through relationships and building and implementing initiatives and systems to support those relationships. The Vice President of Development will increase the financial resources of the ministry beyond the solid direct mail program by adding a major donor program and other avenues of funding while being granted a large degree of autonomy. The person filling this role will join a passionate and vibrant team with a family-like culture and devotion to the Gospel of Jesus and the Great Commission.
THE NEED
Global Outreach International (“Global”) has a cherished tradition of 100% promise...meaning that 100% of donations toward a particular missionary go directly to that missionary. In 2021, the home office raised over $1.7 million to cover administrative costs. The annual needs have historically been funded by an endowment, direct mail campaigns, major donors, other donors, and investments. Over the past five years, the current CEO has made great strides in shifting the culture of this storied mission organization. He is seeking a Vice President of Development that will introduce up-to-date methodologies to go beyond current efforts and channels for raising funds to accomplish the mission of Global.
The Vice President of Development will inherit a small team comprised of a Major Gifts Officer, a Development Associate, and relationships with existing vendors engaged in development activities. He or she will go beyond current efforts and open up other channels for raising funds to accomplish the mission of Global. The new VP will initiate building initiatives and systems toward establishing donor relationships including training and recruiting team members. They will also implement moves management and provide regular reports to the senior leadership and stakeholders. Global seeks a people-oriented professional who believes in teamwork and building relationships to raise funds so that the organization may achieve the goal of sending the next wave of missionaries to the field. This remote role will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
