The Organization

Helping Up Mission (HUM) provides holistic recovery programs that create a community of hope in Baltimore, Maryland. According to Behavioral Health System Baltimore, 1 in 9 people are battling addiction in greater Baltimore. HUM helps men and women fighting addiction and homelessness get their lives back. Their comprehensive programs address root issues of substance abuse and poverty. As one person is healed, Greater Baltimore is raised up. HUM currently has an annual budget of 12.8 million dollars and 125 employees (including part-time and interns).

HUM operates several programs in partnership with the Department of Veteran Affairs, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. In all, HUM serves over 2,500 people annually. While a faith-based organization, HUM serves all regardless of religion, belief, or faith tradition, and does not discriminate in providing services.

The Opportunity

As HUM expanded with the recent opening of a new 250-bed Center for Women & Children, the mission is seeking to broaden their senior program leadership team. The Sr. Director of Men’s Programs will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) on continued program development and expansion for the men’s programs. HUM seeks a Senior Director who is a strategic and collaborative team leader who respects and appreciates HUM’s history and current level of service, with experience operating programs with this focus and scale. This person should be a seasoned leader who has led in development of programs and who brings solid leadership experience in building teams and delivering program outcomes.
