American Leprosy Missions is a 116-year-old, $22 million ministry whose mission is to serve as a channel of Christ’s love to persons affected by leprosy and related diseases, helping them to be healed in body and spirit and restored to lives of dignity and hope. In 2020, 96 countries reported more than 200,000 new cases of leprosy, with many more going undetected each year.

The Major Gifts Officer is the driving force behind the engagement of major donors and foundations in the work and mission of the organization. Through self-initiated engagement with donors on a personal level through in-person meetings, phone, video, written and digital communications, he or she will grow the major gift portfolio and revenue. The MGO will also play a critical role in launching a Mission Venture Council of key donors who will form the core team of major gifts and organizational engagement. Building trusted relationships with donors while managing with a “moves management” approach, the MGO is key to the organization's continued success.
