Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAF) is an international Christian organisation founded in 1945 to bring help and hope to some of the poorest and most remote communities in the world. Today, an MAF aeroplane takes off or lands every five minutes in countries where flying is not a luxury, but a lifeline. They work with hundreds of missions agencies, churches, local groups, relief and development organisations and national government agencies to deliver practical, medical and spiritual care in places with the deepest human need.Their overall FY2019 budget was just over $36 million USD, and they have more than 500 staff around the world.

The Country Director leads the day-to-day operations of the national and international team in South Sudan to serve its customers and partners and accomplish its mission. In 2019, MAF South Sudan had a staff of fifty (18 international, 32 national) and flew 219 organisations to 74 destinations, transporting 8500 passengers and 150,000 kg of cargo, in addition to 62 medical evacuation flights. The CD helps develop and lead MAF's strategic plan for the country and oversees its execution while evaluating its effectiveness. They develop partnerships with churches, NGOs, missions agencies, and government  agencies  and ensure that a high standard of customer care and Christian witness is provided all users of MAF services, all the while setting Christian standards in the work environment and leading by example. The ideal candidate has several years of senior management experience, is comfortable working in a cross-cultural setting, has ‘field’ experience and preferably (but not essentially) an aviation background.
